Job summary

Ringway London is seeking an operative to perform general maintenance tasks and respond to emergencies, including out-of-hours call outs. The role involves assisting with winter maintenance and working as a second man or driver’s mate alongside a Chargehand.

The post requires the ability to undertake a wide range of routine and cyclical works, hold a current driving licence, and be prepared to develop skills with training across health & safety, risk assessment, and traffic management.

Qualifications

• To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
• Understand risk assessments and assess according to safe systems of work
• Carry out work as set out in a specification
• Generally hold 12 months+ experience
• Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
• Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
• Ability to use small plant and equipment
• Ability to operate mini excavator

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance works and operations under supervision
• Respond to emergencies and call outs during or out of hours on rotas
• Assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate
• Support apprentices who have completed training
