Job summary

Tooheys Brewery in Lidcombe seeks an experienced Equipment Specialist (Machine Specialist – Asset Care) to join the Packaging Engineering team. This hands-on role focuses 80% on planned maintenance, overhauls and improvements across high-speed packaging lines, with 20% on breakdowns and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates hold a dual trade qualification (Mechanical & Electrical) or Electrical fitter experience, with proven maintenance experience in FMCG/beverage packaging.

Qualifications

• Dual trade qualification (Mechanical & Electrical) or Electrical fitter experience.
• Experience maintaining high-speed manufacturing equipment in FMCG/beverage packaging.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance, equipment overhauls and continuous improvement on high-speed packaging machinery.
• Provide specialist mechanical maintenance support, with some electrical work as qualified.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and optimise machine performance.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and collaborate with production/engineering teams.
• Support and supervise external contractors undertaking specialist maintenance activities and champion safety.
