Job summary

Hampton Park Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to contribute to high-quality teaching and student learning outcomes. The role focuses on planning, preparation and delivery of programs to achieve specific outcomes, with emphasis on literacy and numeracy and evidence-based practice.

As a Range 1/Range 2 teacher, you will collaborate with colleagues, mentor student teachers, and contribute to school policies while engaging with families and the wider school

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating student learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to reflect on practice and engage in professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
• Supervise and train student teachers.
• Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches that improve outcomes.
