Job summary

Rocky Bay is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Western Australia to assist people living with disability in a high care setting. You will support daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and daily routines, tailoring support to each person’s goals.

The role requires 2 years in high care, PEG feeding and hoist transfer experience, and knowledge of restrictive practices. A valid driver’s licence and a person-centred approach are essential, with rosters across East Victoria Park and

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a high care setting.
• Experience with PEG feeding and hoist transfers for complex high care needs.
• Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/ or autism.
• Knowledge of restrictive practices and safeguarding requirements.
• Passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
• Reliable, patient and person-centred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience or knowledge of Active Support.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is desirable.
• Valid Driver’s Licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, PEG feeding, medication and household tasks.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with customers.
• Support customers to develop skills and independence.
• Support customers with mobility, transfers, hoisting and other physical assistance as required.
• Follow person-centred support plans and respond to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate case notes, timesheets and incident reports.
