Job summary

CommonAI CIC is seeking a Programme Technical Lead to drive the High Assurance AI Programme. You will translate research into delivered engineering, working with the architectural lead, the Chief Science Officer and members. You will report to the CTO and build a Cambridge-based engineering team.

You will lead delivery of the technical roadmap, hire and guide engineers, and align regulated industry needs with the programme's goals, ensuring trust and reliability in AI systems.

Qualifications

• Understanding processes/workflows in financial services (regulated industries).
• Experience with ML research and translating research to production.
• Ability to engage credibly with ML researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of the programme's technical roadmap from research to production.
• Build, hire and lead an engineering team based in Cambridge.
• Translate regulatory needs into clear technical requirements for the programme.
• Coordinate with researchers, members and partners on a shared roadmap.
• Evaluate approaches (formal methods, AI control, domain-specific LMs) and decide what to build.
• Represent the programme technically with members and partners.
