Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to service and repair a range of heavy commercial vehicles. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship and teamwork within a supportive workshop.

The candidate should hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and possess strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, with a full driving licence. An HGV licence is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Proven ability with heavy vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection and maintenance standards is essential.
• Candidates should be reliable, organized and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance per DVSA requirements.
• Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Repair components including brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure roadworthiness standards are met.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns when required.
• Accurately complete job cards and inspection sheets.
