Job summary

LK Auto Pty Ltd in Prestons, NSW, is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our professional team. You will service, diagnose, repair and inspect heavy vehicles, delivering quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

You must hold a Heavy Vehicle Technician trade qualification, possess strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, and work safely within a supportive workshop. A current HC or HR licence is attractive.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Technician or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Current HC or HR driver's licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and drivelines.
• Use advanced diagnostic software and computer systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete pre-delivery inspections and testing to ensure vehicles meet quality and safety standards.
• Prepare detailed and accurate job reports on repair work, supplies, and recommendations.
• Maintain clear and accurate service and repair documentation.
• Mentoring and guiding apprentice technicians, ensuring safe work practices.
• Diagnose faults efficiently and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
• Work in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures and industry standards.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
