Job summary

Dubbo Regional Council is seeking two Heavy Vehicle and Plant Mechanics to service, diagnose and repair a diverse fleet across Dubbo and Wellington, with a mix of workshop and field work.

You’ll work autonomously, mentor apprentices and uphold high workmanship standards while supporting critical council operations. Salary range $80,310–$93,333 per year, 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight plus generous leave and salary packaging options.

Qualifications

• Recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Plant Mechanic; or a recognised Light Vehicle Mechanic qualification with experience in servicing, diagnosis and repair of heavy vehicles and/or mobile plant.
• Demonstrated experience in servicing, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of heavy vehicles and/or mobile plant.
• Proficiency with fleet management systems and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Council's fleet of heavy vehicles, mobile plant and associated equipment to keep essential services operating.
• Work autonomously across various locations including workshop and field service.
• Communicate effectively with different levels of the organisation.
• Supervise apprentices and contribute to high staff morale within the team.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and asset reliability.
