Job summary

Gladstone Regional Council is seeking a permanent full-time Heavy Vehicle Plant Mechanic to service and maintain the council’s fleet and plant. The role offers a 9-day fortnight roster and is located at the Gladstone Depot.

You will bring analytical, technical and planning skills, plus sound communication and teamwork abilities to a collaborative workshop environment in Queensland. Applicants must have a valid driver's licence for Queensland and immunisation requirements may apply.

Heavy Vehicle Plant Mechanic

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Heavy Vehicle Plant Mechanic to contribute to Council’s success.

• Exposure to a vast array of machinery and vehicles, workshop and field service work
• 9-day fortnight roster | Currently trialling 4-day work week
• Located at the Gladstone Depot

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide efficient mechanical servicing and maintenance to Council’s fleet and plant.

You will bring:

• Demonstrate relevant analytical, technical and planning skills and experience.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian Design Rules.
• Knowledge of relevant Queensland Transport regulations and legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
• Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.

This position requires immunisation againstHepatitis A/B and Tetanus.
