Job summary

Ipswich City Council invites applications for a Heavy Vehicle Operator to support our Capital Delivery Team in building and maintaining vital community infrastructure across Ipswich. You will operate water trucks and tandem tippers, maintain gear, and follow strict safety standards to ensure efficient, high-quality outputs.

You should have an HR Driver’s Licence, proven heavy vehicle experience, and a Construction Industry safety card.

Qualifications

• Current HR Class Driver’s Licence.
• Previous experience working in heavy vehicle operation.
• General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card.
• Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or construction knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
• Be self-sufficient and able to work under minimal supervision.
• The ability to work in line with our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership.

Job description

Put your heavy vehicle driving skills to work on projects that shape the future of Ipswich.

We're looking for a capable Heavy Vehicle Operator who takes pride in operating their equipment safely, efficiently and to a high standard to join our Capital Delivery Team. You will operate a range of heavy vehicles and plant equipment contributing to the construction, maintenance, and improvement of vital community infrastructure projects across the city.

• Operate plant and equipment such as water truck and tandem tippers
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained
• Follow safety standards when loading, unloading and operating loaded vehicles
• Prepare and apply materials efficiently and safely

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

This is a full-time permanent position with a salary commencing from $73,860 plus 12.5% superannuation.
