Job summary

Volvo Group Australia is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for the Prestons dealership. You will service and repair Volvo Trucks, Buses, Mack and UD brands, with responsibilities including diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and breakdown support.

The role is based at the Prestons Volvo Commercial Vehicles dealership, reporting to the Workshop Manager. We value teamwork, safety, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Heavy Vehicle mechanic with appropriate trade certification.
• Experience with Volvo, Mack, UD or other European truck/bus brands is highly regarded.
• Some exposure to light auto-electrical work is beneficial.
• Pro-active attitude with a drive to work efficiently.
• Positive safety attitude with a team-focused mindset.

We are seeking qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician to join Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV) Prestons. Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV) Australia are primary vehicle distribution centre's for Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks and UD Trucks, offering sales, service and parts for Volvo Group vehicles.

What You Will Do

Our Heavy Vehicle Mechanics have the opportunity to work on Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Mack and UD Trucks, some of Australia's most innovative transport brands. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing and maintenance on trucks and buses, in line with Volvo Group's standards.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

• Steering and suspension repairs
• Electrical faults, diagnosis and repairs
• Braking systems diagnosis and repairs
• Component overhauls
• Driveline repairs
• Preventative maintenance services and repairs
• Offisite and breakdown repairs

Your future team

This role will be based at our Volvo Commercial Vehicles dealership in Prestons, which forms part of the larger Volvo Group Australia umbrella. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the team of workshop staff are made up of Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Apprentices, Parts Interpreters, Service Advisors and Costing Clerks. The VCV Prestons dealership pride themselves on an inclusive and stable work environment.
