Job summary

Coastal Truck Services in Warnervale, NSW, is seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our growing workshop. You will diagnose and repair faults across trucks, trailers and heavy equipment, perform servicing and inspections, and help maintain a safe, compliant shop environment.

We offer above‑award remuneration, 12% super, weekly pay, overtime opportunities and ongoing training. Brand-new workshop due for completion by end of 2026, with day or afternoon shifts available.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology – essential.
• Heavy Vehicle AIS inspection ticket – highly regarded.
• Automotive Air Conditioning licence – highly regarded.
• Experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, components and repair procedures.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and practical problem-solving ability.
• Commitment to safe, compliant, high-quality workshop practices.
• Heavy vehicle licence desirable; forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles.
• Complete scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Identify and carry out required repairs to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure all work meets safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior mechanics as required.
• Collaborate with the workshop team to minimise downtime and keep fleets moving.

We provide a comprehensive range of services including heavy vehicle repairs and maintenance, auto electrical, air conditioning, tyres, registration inspections and defect clearances, providing our customers with a reliable one-stop shop for their fleet maintenance and repair needs.

With continued growth and a brand-new purpose-built workshop currently under development, we are looking for experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our team at Warnervale.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of our workshop team, you’ll work across a diverse range of trucks, trailers and heavy vehicle equipment, with responsibilities including:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles

• Complete scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections

• Identify and carry out required repairs to a high standard

• Maintain accurate service and repair records

• Ensure all work meets safety, quality and compliance requirements

• Support and mentor apprentices and junior mechanics as required

• Working closely with the wider workshop team to minimise downtime and keep our customers' fleets moving

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology – essential

• Heavy Vehicle AIS inspection ticket – highly regarded

• Automotive Air Conditioning licence – highly regarded

• Previous experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Sound knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, components and repair procedures

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach

• Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant and high-quality workshop environment

• Current driver's licence – heavy vehicle licence desirable, but not essential

• Forklift licence – desirable
