Job summary

Superior Diesel Maintenance Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Mining Equipment Technician to join our on-site team in Muswellbrook, NSW. This full-time position comes with a company vehicle and a focus on maintaining heavy mining equipment to ensure peak performance and safety.

You will perform routine servicing, diagnose faults, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems, while keeping detailed service logs and coordinating with site supervisors.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as a Heavy Diesel Technician.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience working on heavy mining equipment in an operational mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems and electrical components.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools.
• Sound understanding of health and safety principles and mining industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy mining equipment such as excavators, haul trucks, dozers and drilling equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct repairs to engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and electrical components.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage and safety compliance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and service logs.
• Liaise with mining site supervisors to understand performance issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety and company procedures.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians where applicable.

Superior Diesel Maintenance Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Mining Equipment Technician to join our team in Muswellbrook, NSW. This is a full-time position based on-site with a full time work vehicle provided, where you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing heavy mining equipment to ensure optimal operational performance and safety standards. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our clients' mining operations and contributing to the reliability and efficiency of their fleet.

What you'll be doing

Performing routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy mining equipment including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and drilling equipment

Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment

Conducting repairs to engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components

Inspecting equipment for wear, damage and safety compliance

Maintaining detailed maintenance records and service logs

Liaising with mining site supervisors and operators to understand equipment performance issues

Performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan

Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures

Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior technicians where applicable

What we’re looking for
