Job summary

Cobden Buslines Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join Cobden Coaches in Cobden, Victoria, on a full-time basis. You will maintain and service a fleet of buses, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with maintenance standards.

Reporting to the operations team, you’ll diagnose faults, carry out repairs, complete maintenance records and support depot across Cobden, Camperdown, Derrinallum and Skipton. A strong safety focus and careful workmanship are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
• Experience with trucks, buses or heavy commercial vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions and established maintenance procedures
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• High level of attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Current MR or HR driver's license

Responsibilities

• General servicing and maintenance of buses and coaches
• Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance programs
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out repairs to buses and heavy vehicles
• Identifying potential mechanical issues before they become major problems
• Inspecting vehicles and ensuring they are safe and roadworthy
• Completing maintenance records and relevant documentation
• Test driving vehicles following servicing and repairs
• Assisting with breakdowns across Cobden, Camperdown, Derrinallum and Skipton
• Working collaboratively with drivers and other team members to identify and resolve vehicle issues
• Supporting ongoing improvement of fleet reliability and preventative maintenance
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop and work environment
• Working in accordance with all relevant WHS requirements and vehicle maintenance standards
