Job summary

Marble Group is seeking an experienced underground diesel mechanic to join a central SA mining site on a 6-month contract with Marble and potential permanent placement. You will work across workshop and field, servicing, diagnostics and fault finding on a fleet including agi trucks, Sandvik cablebolters and spray rigs.

You should have 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work in a team or unsupervised in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience (highly advantageous).
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair.
• Ability to work in both workshop and field environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in Australia.
• Experience with fleet maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Workshop – servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, fault finding and major component changes.
• Field – underground breakdowns, fault finding and diagnostics.
• Maintain a fleet including agi trucks, Sandvik cablebolters and spray rigs.

Operating in central SA, this large-scale underground hard-rock mine is a mature operation with a strong safety culture and a consistent demand for skilled trades and operators. You will enjoy:

The role

Reporting directly to the maintenance supervisor on your crew you will enjoy working in a varied role where you'll develop a broad range of skill in both the workshop and in the field. Working in a close-knit team you will be involved with:

• Workshop - servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics and major component change outs
• Field - underground breakdowns, fault finding, and diagnostics
• Working on a fleet of fleet of agi trucks, Sandvik cablebolters, spray rigs, IT's and a range of mine spec light vehicles.

Your skills and experience

Ideally, you will come from a background working as an UG heavy diesel mechanic working on the duties listed above. However, applications are also open for diesel mechanics with experience on working on agi trucks and other mobile plant machinery. You will have:

• A good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanic and electrical fault finding and repair
• 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience (highly advantageous)
• An excellent attitude towards work and desire to work in an underground hardrock mine
• Ability to work on machinery in the field and workshop
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
• Driver's license

Contract and salary

Marble is partnered with this underground mining contractor to supply long term employees to the site. The opportunity exists to join the company on an initial 6-month contract through Marble and transition over to the clients' books after a short probation period (depending on performance and availability).

• Up to $80.00ph + super (depending on skills and experience)
• Weekly pay cycles whilst working through Marble
