Job summary

Marble Group is seeking an underground heavy diesel mechanic to join a well-known mining contractor on long-term underground hardrock sites across NSW and SA. You will work in both workshop and field, servicing, fault finding, and maintenance on AGI trucks, Sandvik cablebolters, spray rigs and other mine-spec vehicles.

The role transitions from a six-month contract to a permanent position. You’ll enjoy 2:2 or 8:6 rosters, flights from capital cities or DIDO allowances, and full job security with

Qualifications

• Ideally, you will come from a background as an UG heavy diesel mechanic working on the duties listed above.
• 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience (highly advantageous).
• An excellent attitude towards work and desire to work in an underground hardrock mine.
• Ability to work on machinery in the field and workshop.

Responsibilities

• Workshop: servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics and major component change outs.
• Field: underground breakdowns, fault finding, and diagnostics.
• Work with a fleet of AGI trucks, Sandvik cablebolters, spray rigs and mine-spec light vehicles.

The role

Reporting directly to the maintenance supervisor on your crew you will enjoy working in a varied role where you'll develop a broad range of skill in both the workshop and in the field. Working in a close-knit team you will be involved with:

• Workshop - servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics and major component change outs
• Field - underground breakdowns, fault finding, and diagnostics
• Working on a fleet of fleet of agi trucks, Sandvik cablebolters, spray rigs, IT's and a range of mine spec light vehicles.

Your skills and experience

Ideally, you will come from a background working as an UG heavy diesel mechanic working on the duties listed above. However, applications are also open for diesel mechanics with experience on working on agi trucks and other mobile plant machinery. You will have:

• A good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanic and electrical fault finding and repair
• 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience (highly advantageous)
• An excellent attitude towards work and desire to work in an underground hardrock mine
• Ability to work on machinery in the field and workshop
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
• Driver's license

Contract and salary

Marble is partnered with this underground mining contractor to supply long term employees to the site. The opportunity exists to join the company on an initial 6-month contract through Marble and transition over to the clients' books after a short probation period (depending on performance and availability).

• Up to $80.00ph + super (depending on skills and experience)
• Weekly pay cycles whilst working through Marble
