Job summary

Queensland Government on the Sunshine Coast invites applications for Health Practitioner - Trainee roles across Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Audiology and Speech Pathology. Trainees combine full-time/part-time study with hands-on clinical support to gain the entry-level qualification.

Under supervision you will deliver services, rotate as needed within Sunshine Coast Health, and maintain patient records while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete (pass or better) all academic and practical requirements of tertiary study while employed as a Health Practitioner-Trainee.
• Perform a defined range of clinical assessment and treatment tasks within the scope of practice as delegated by the supervising allied health professional/Health Practitioner.
• Initiate changes to treatment programs under supervision using results from standardised assessments, decision support tools, clinical pathways and/or patient guidelines.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems.

We're excited to welcome Health Practitioner - Trainees to our Allied Health Services. Health Practitioner-Trainee roles are available in the following discipline/s Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Audiology, and Speech Pathology.The Health Practitioner-Trainee performs a range of clinical support activities and 'on the job' skills development while engaged in formal full-time/Part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland. With relevant supervision, the Health Practitioner-Trainee deliver clinical services within the agreed scope of the role and experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. These services are delivered in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. To assist with managing workload / patient needs, staff at HP1 level may at times be required to rotate across Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service units / facilities.Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation.
