Job summary

United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is seeking a Health Coordinator to join the Health, Safety & Training team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role advises and supports stakeholders in implementing health initiatives, procedures, and policies across the site.

You will coordinate fitness for work, health monitoring and return-to-work programs, maintaining a visible presence across the site and liaising with all levels of staff to achieve positive health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Allied health (Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse).
• Experience in injury management or allied health roles.
• Strong focus on customer service and achieving positive outcomes for stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate complex issues and competing priorities.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Advise, support and assist stakeholders in implementing health initiatives, procedures and policies across the site.
• Coordinate fitness for work, health monitoring and return-to-work programs.
• Maintain a visible presence across the site with interactions at all levels of staff.
• Contribute to Health, Safety & Training team objectives and site health outcomes.

United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is an open-cut coal mine located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. UWJV is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and MEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody).

The Opportunity

We commenced operation in 2020 and are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of run of mine (ROM) thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until 2042.

About the role:

United Wambo are looking for a health Coordinator to join the team for a 12 month fixed term period. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, and as an integral member of the site’s Health, Safety & Training team, the primary purpose of this role is to advise, support and assist stakeholders in the implementation of health initiatives, procedures and policies.

The role also sees the Health Coordinator play a role in the coordination of fitness for work, health monitoring and return to work programs which form a critical component of this role. This role requires you to be have a visible presence across the site, requiring interaction with all levels of the site.

About you:

• A tertiary qualification in Allied health (Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse)
• Previous experience in injury management or an allied health role
• Strong focus on customer service and achieving positive outcomes for all stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience navigating complex issues and competing priorities
• Excellent planning and organisational skills as well as high level of attention to detail
