Job summary

Greencross Vets Preston is seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse for a full-time leadership role in Melbourne's VIC region. You will lead a passionate nursing team, mentor junior staff, and maintain hands-on clinical practice to drive high-quality patient care.

In this role you will shape nursing standards, support team development, and partner with the Practice Manager to ensure smooth clinic operations. A dynamic, collaborative environment and ongoing CPD are on offer.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing required; minimum 3+ years clinical nursing.
• Experience in leadership, mentoring or senior nursing roles.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the veterinary nursing team.
• Support Nurses to build confidence and clinical excellence.
• Foster a positive, accountable workplace culture.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager and Vet Director on operations.
• Oversee daily workflow and clinic efficiency.
• Assist with onboarding, training and mentoring.
• Maintain high standards in surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring.
• Support client communications and service excellence.
