Hastings Secondary College in Port Macquarie and Westport seeks qualified teachers with unconditional teaching approval to join the NSW Department of Education. The role focuses on inclusive education for students with diverse needs, including Mild/Moderate intellectual disability, autism and complex learning needs.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach and demonstrated experience with Mild or Moderate Intellectual Ability, Autism and Complex Learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage staff, students and the wider community.
• Ability to establish and resource inclusive learning environments that meet diverse learning, wellbeing and support needs of students with a disability.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills in managing multiple supported learning classes while balancing classroom teaching with supervisory duties and transition programs, ensuring compliance with policies.

Responsabilités

• Lead eight supported learning classes and coordinate resources.
• Balance classroom teaching with supervisory duties and learning transition programs (from 6 to 7 and post-school).
• Ensure compliance with College, Department and NESA policies.
• Contribute to professional learning and collaborative development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
