Job summary

Kincumber High School is a NSW Department of Education secondary school seeking a Head Teacher Special Education to lead inclusive programs and student welfare initiatives on the Central Coast. The role focuses on improving teaching practices and building a strong support culture within the Student Support Unit and across the school community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning and collaboration with staff, families and partner schools to deliver

Qualifications

• Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
• Approval to teach with NSW Department of Education; experience with Behaviour Difficulties or Autism
• Enthusiastic, proactive and strategic leadership with strong interpersonal skills
• Visible, approachable leader who builds teams and drives school improvement
• Ability to develop, implement and review individualised learning, behaviour, wellbeing and transition plans
• Knowledge of Life Skills curriculum and evidence-based practices for students with disability
• Commitment to Aboriginal education policy

Responsibilities

• Lead and design inclusive teaching and learning programs
• Drive educational leadership to build capacity and manage performance of staff
• Engage staff, students, parents and the wider school community to achieve positive outcomes
• Plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
