Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a Director-level Manager to lead the Payload and Terminals Lab. You will build and guide a team of hardware and test engineers who prototype and validate spaceborne antennas and customer terminals across R&D and production phases.

You will direct capabilities such as OTA test infrastructure, HW prototyping, test benches, and verification across the product lifecycle, delivering test reports and data-driven insights to shape

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a combination of people and technical leadership.
• 1+ year of experience building and operating technical labs in R&D environment.
• 10+ years of experience in product development, SW and HW.

Responsibilities

• Over-the-air (OTA) test infrastructure — Design and build anechoic chambers and near-field scanners to support antenna characterization and validation.
• Hardware (HW) prototyping capability — Stand up and maintain prototyping equipment, software (SW) tools, rework stations, and inspection cameras to enable rapid design iteration.
• HW test benches — Configure and operate Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Signal Analyzers for RF performance testing.
• R&D prototype build and test — Build functional prototypes and execute test campaigns that directly support R&D development efforts.
• Spaceborne payload and customer terminal verification — Lead test and verification activities at each stage of the product lifecycle; generate test reports and deliver analysis that informs development and production decisions.
• Antenna test and calibration hardware — Design and develop custom hardware solutions that enable antenna test and calibration at scale.
