Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay invites applications for Head of Faculty – Visual Arts. You will lead development and delivery of high-quality Visual Arts programs, aligning with Australian Curriculum and QCAA, while mentoring staff and driving professional growth.

This leadership role oversees Years 7–12 curriculum, assessment, resources and budgets, and contributes to the Curriculum Leadership Team. The role supports the School's Anglican ethos and student development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent with a relevant teaching area.
• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Experience in curriculum development and pedagogical leadership.
• Proven ability to lead a team effectively and collaboratively.
• Experience teaching at senior secondary level (Years 11 and 12).
• Strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning strategies, including digital pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Lead Visual Arts curriculum across Years 7–12.
• Provide curriculum and pedagogical leadership.
• Oversee assessment planning aligned with Australian Curriculum and QCAA.
• Mentor faculty staff and support professional development.
• Foster academic excellence and innovative teaching.
• Monitor student progress using data to inform teaching.
• Oversee resources, budgets and documentation.
• Support staff induction and set expectations.
• Promote Visual Arts through exhibitions and events.
• Lead Visual Arts in Splendour in the Arts project.
• Contribute to School Curriculum Leadership Team.
• Support Anglican ethos and whole-student development.
