Job summary

Pathfinder Recruitment is seeking a Head of Engineering for a Sydney-based permanent role. You will lead a 12-strong development, mobile, QA and support team, owning technical function, standards, and delivery across multiple projects.

You will report to the Directors and shape the technology strategy of the agency. High emphasis on strong C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core and Azure capabilities, with experience in enterprise-scale .NET CMS/DXP projects and modern CI/CD, testing and security practices.

• Experience delivering enterprise-scale .NET CMS/DXP projects.
• A strong understanding of modern engineering practices, CI/CD, testing and security.
• Experience owning development processes and technical delivery in an agency or similar environment.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to work directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
• The judgement to balance technical quality with real-world delivery pressures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the development team, including hiring and performance management.

• Work with the Principal Engineer to evolve the approach to AI-assisted and spec-driven development.

• Be the escalation point for technical, deployment and production issues.
• Help shape the future technology strategy of the agency.

Our client is an independent digital agency that makes digital simple. For 17 years, they have been building high-performing websites, eCommerce platforms, mobile applications and complex integrations for leading organisations.

We're looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the development function and join our leadership team.

You'll lead a team of 12 across development, mobile, QA and support, reporting directly to the Directors. You'll own the technical function — the people, processes, engineering standards and the quality of everything built.

What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor and develop the development team, including hiring and performance management.

• Own resource planning and allocation across multiple projects.

What we’re looking for
