Lead the people agenda of a fast-growing national business

Home Trades Hub Australia is growing quickly. We provide trades, electrification, property inspections, home security and commercial energy solutions in Victoria and nationally. We're a wholly owned subsidiary of RACV and run as a standalone business.

We need an experienced People & Culture leader to step in for 12 months while our Head of People & Culture is on parental leave. You'll keep the people strategy on track and lead the function through a period of growth.

About the role

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you will lead a team of five and be responsible for people practices across 5 operating business units and $35m payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set the direction. Deliver the P&C strategic plan, lead workforce planning and labour budgeting, and shape an employee value proposition that works for a multi-skilled, multicultural workforce.
  • Lead change. Run people integration for newly acquired businesses, guide leaders through restructures and build change capability across the business.
  • Build capability and performance. Make sure performance cycles fit the business, coach leaders through difficult performance and behaviour issues, and lead talent and succession planning.
  • Improve the employee experience. Lift engagement in line with HTHA's values and help leaders act on employee feedback.
  • Manage IR and compliance. Own the IR strategy, resolve employee relations matters and keep pay and employment practices compliant in every Australian state and in the Philippines.
  • Oversee reward. Run the remuneration framework and work with Finance on reward and cost strategies.
  • Support safety. Help keep the workplace safe and support return-to-work programs.
About you
  • You're a commercially minded senior HR leader who works well in complex settings. You'll bring:
  • At least 10 years' experience in a senior leadership role
  • Proven experience managing industrial relations in a complex organisation
  • A track record of leading organisational change and cultural transformation
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong skills in building relationships, managing stakeholders and influencing others, along with sound judgement
  • Resilience, emotional intelligence and a practical, collaborative approach to solving problems
