Job summary

Auto & General Insurance is seeking a Head of Motor Underwriting to define risk selection and underwriting processes, aligning strategies with risk appetite, commercial goals, and regulatory obligations. You will lead Motor Technical Underwriting and Case Underwriting teams to drive growth and sustainable outperformance.

The role requires strategic direction, governance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize resources, automate referrals, and improve outcomes for customers

Qualifications

• 10+ years of domestic motor underwriting experience in underwriting, product development, portfolio management or pricing.
• Knowledge of regulatory regimes, compliance and insurance legislation with familiarity of current FSR environment.
• Strong leadership with track record in innovation, automation and development of contemporary practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and governance of motor underwriting in line with risk appetite and policy.
• Lead Technical Underwriting and Underwriting Managers to deliver growth and profitability.
• Drive automation, streamlined processes and improved outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
