Job summary

Chatham High School in regional NSW is seeking an energetic Head Teacher of Mathematics to lead the Mathematics faculty for Years 7–12 and to drive whole-school numeracy initiatives. The role requires strategic instructional leadership, strong curriculum development, and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching to improve Aboriginal student participation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Mathematics Years 7–12 with demonstrated engaging, differentiated teaching across the full range of Mathematics courses.
• Capacity to provide strategic instructional leadership to develop a cohesive Mathematics faculty through collaborative practice and mentoring.
• Expertise in curriculum, assessment and reporting using evidence and student data to strengthen numeracy and HSC outcomes.
• Foster a culture of high expectations and culturally responsive teaching to improve Aboriginal student participation and achievement, contributing to whole-school improvement.
• Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with ability to lead inclusive teaching programs.
• Educational leadership to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff and parents.
