St Michael’s Grammar School invites applications for Head of House, a leadership role guiding Year 7–12 pastoral care, wellbeing and engagement. The role includes mentoring House Tutors, building strong student-family relationships and shaping school life with a co-Head of House.

With 0.40 time allowance, you will lead a connected House culture, work with a collaborative wellbeing team and contribute to strategic wellbeing initiatives across the School.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of wellbeing and pastoral care practices.
• Understand developmental and learning needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture a connected House culture that promotes belonging, inclusion and student engagement.
• Build authentic and productive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of House Tutors, fostering consistency and excellence in pastoral care practices.
• Support the academic, social and emotional development of students through proactive pastoral leadership.
• Work collaboratively with wellbeing, learning support and educational leaders to ensure students receive appropriate and timely support.
• Use student data, wellbeing information and professional judgement to identify trends and coordinate interventions.
• Mentor student leaders and empower students to contribute positively to House and School life.
• Contribute strategically to the ongoing development of student wellbeing programs and initiatives across the School.
