Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide the Home Buying AI initiatives within the Pricing Modelling squad. You will mentor a team of data scientists, deliver high-quality ML models, and collaborate with Pricing Strategy and Credit Risk to drive customer-centric outcomes.

The role requires deep statistical knowledge, experience in pricing or credit risk modelling, and strong communication with senior stakeholders. Proficiency in Python, R, Spark, and AWS tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven data science leadership with strong statistical and ML expertise.
• Experience in pricing modelling and/or credit risk modelling.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Cloud-based ML tools experience (AWS SageMaker, Bedrock) and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior data scientists to deliver modelling projects.
• Present solutions to senior business and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop and manage key modelling assets with state-of-the-art techniques.
• Collaborate with Pricing Strategy and Credit Risk teams to enable business decisions.
