Job summary

Bendigo Kangan Institute seeks a strategic Head of Finance to provide enterprise‑wide leadership for financial stewardship, performance and transformation. You will partner with the Executive team, translate complex financial information into practical insights, and drive sustainable growth across Victoria with emerging international opportunities.

Reporting to the CFO, you will modernise financial systems, strengthen business partnering, and guide governance, risk management, and reporting

Qualifications

Senior finance leadership experience within a complex, regulated or multi‑stakeholder organisation.
Experience leading finance transformation, systems implementation and continuous improvement.
Strong financial governance, controls, audit and compliance expertise.
Experience partnering with Executive and Board‑level stakeholders and influencing decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead the Institute's financial management, planning, forecasting, budgeting and resource allocation activities.
Provide financial advice and insights to the Executive team and senior stakeholders.
Oversee and drive finance transformation initiatives, including systems modernisation and enhanced reporting.
Strengthen financial governance, controls, compliance and risk management frameworks.
Embed proactive business partnering to support organisational performance.
Develop and coach a high‑performing finance team across campuses.
