Job summary

U&U Recruitment Partners in Cannon Hill QLD is seeking a hands-on Head of Finance who blends strong financial control with a commercial FP&A mindset and a track record of guiding finance systems transformation.

You will lead day-to-day accounting, supervise a small team, drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights, and partner with IT and stakeholders to elevate finance's contribution across the business.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification with strong financial control background.
• Experience leading finance teams at a senior level (Head of Finance or Financial Controller).
• Experience with ERP implementation, system transformation or significant process change.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills to provide actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and external audit processes.
• Oversee tax and regulatory compliance, payroll and core accounting operations.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and performance insights to support business planning and management decisions.
• Lead and develop the finance team, strengthening accountability, reporting discipline and capability.
• Drive finance process improvement, automation and better use of data to enhance accuracy, efficiency and control.
• Contribute to finance systems enhancements and transformation initiatives, partnering with IT, business stakeholders and external providers.
