Job summary

Stride Mental Health in Sydney NSW is seeking a Head of Enterprise Risk to lead and enhance its enterprise-wide risk management framework. You will drive a strong risk culture, provide strategic risk oversight, and ensure a robust, forward-looking approach to risk across the organisation.

Reporting to senior executives, you will oversee multiple risk classes, develop policies, and present insights to Executive Committees and Boards. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise risk management within financial services.
• Proven ability to lead enterprise risk frameworks and engage with Executive/Board-level stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of risk governance, risk appetite frameworks, operational risk and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee risk classes including operational risk, credit risk, compliance risk, conduct risk, technology risk, outsourcing and emerging risks.
• Drive the implementation and ongoing enhancement of risk policies, appetite statements, risk registers, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Prepare and present risk reports, insights and recommendations to Executive Committees, Board Committees and senior stakeholders.
• Oversee the risk incident, issue management and control assurance processes, ensuring effective remediation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business leaders to embed risk management practices into decision-making, projects and change initiatives.
• Lead risk assessments for new products, strategic initiatives, third-party arrangements and regulatory developments.
• Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory requirements and industry trends, ensuring the organisation remains proactive and compliant.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing risk team while fostering a positive risk culture across the business.

We are supporting a lending firm who are looking for a Head of Enterprise Risk to lead and enhance its enterprise‑wide risk management framework. Reporting to senior executives and working closely with key stakeholders across the business, this role will drive a strong risk culture, provide strategic risk oversight, and ensure the organisation maintains a robust and forward‑looking approach to risk management.

About You

• Extensive experience in enterprise risk management within financial services, banking, lending, mortgage, insurance or regulated environments.
• Proven experience leading enterprise risk frameworks and engaging with Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of risk governance, risk appetite frameworks, operational risk and controls management.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and balance commercial outcomes with effective risk management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to simplify complex risk matters.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, with professional risk, governance or compliance certifications viewed favourably.
