Job summary

Bluefin Resources is partnering with a leading higher education institution in Brisbane to appoint an experienced risk leader who will drive enterprise risk maturity and shape the organisation's risk management framework. You will own the risk transformation agenda and work with senior leaders to enhance risk identification, assessment, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in risk management, governance or assurance within a large and complex organisation.

A leading higher education institution is seeking an experienced risk leader to take the reins on enterprise risk maturity. Backed by the governing Senate, this role offers genuine ownership of a risk transformation agenda and the mandate to shape how risk is managed across the institution.

Responsibilities

• Drive the ongoing uplift of the organisation’s risk maturity and Risk Management Framework.
• Provide strategic risk advice, challenge and assurance across enterprise, operational, financial, compliance and reputational risks.
• Partner with senior leaders and risk owners to strengthen risk identification, assessment, treatment and reporting.
• Support risk appetite, governance and reporting processes for senior management and relevant committees.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen risk culture, capability and risk awareness across the organisation.
• Drive adoption and effective use of the GRC system, supporting change and continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

• 7+ years in risk management, governance or assurance within a large and complex organisation. Big 4 consulting or commercial sector experience highly regarded.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary risk management, control and assurance frameworks and risk transformation projects
• Confident communicator able to write board papers and facilitate tough conversations
• Builds trust quickly and influences at senior levels with ease
• GRC platform experience and/or professional accreditation (RMIA, IIA) a bonus
