Job summary

DAI CORP, a Melbourne headquartered e-commerce technology group, is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead software development and web and mobile engineering.

You will own the engineering operating model, architecture and delivery roadmap, and drive testing, DevSecOps and reliability across distributed teams worldwide.

You will collaborate with executives, PM/BI and partners to ensure delivery, value and effective workforce planning while shaping engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience across software engineering and business-critical platforms.
• Strong knowledge of modern architecture, APIs, integration and scalable application design.
• Experience improving engineering quality, DevSecOps, CI/CD and reliability.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Commercial judgement across internal development, vendors and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Clear communication across engineering, executive and operational stakeholders.
• A track record of building capable teams, leaders and disciplined engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development and web and mobile engineering
• Own the engineering operating model, technical direction and architecture
• Lead planning, prioritisation and roadmap delivery
• Strengthen automated testing, secure development, CI/CD and DevSecOps
• Govern technical debt, reliability, scalability and performance
• Manage capacity, dependencies, delivery risk and workforce planning
• Lead and develop engineering leaders and teams
• Manage specialist partners and assure externally delivered work
• Partner with executives, PM&B I and operational leaders
• Provide transparent reporting on delivery, risk, cost and value
