Head of Engineering | Steer the future of AI

W're excited to represent our client who look for a Head of Engineering for a fast-scaling tech startup backed by tier-one investors to lead the technical evolution of a GenAI-powered product scaling across Australia, the UK, and the US.

With strong traction and global expansion underway, we’re now looking for a deeply technical leader to help us scale from a lean local team to a global platform.

What you’ll work with:

• Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling
• AI: LLM orchestration, real-time inference pipelines, GenAI agents
• Integrations: EMRs, messaging systems, and regional health infrastructure

Your impact:

• Scale a high security grade GenAI platform.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team across regions
• Architect and execute a roadmap that supports global growth
• Lead engineering culture, dev processes, and compliance alignment (HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
• Balance velocity with technical excellence and long-term scalability

You bring:

• Leadership experience in fast-growing SaaS companies
• A history of building production systems that handle sensitive data at scale
• Deep comfort with shipping and maintaining GenAI and real-time platforms
• The ability to lead from both the whiteboard and the codebase
• Suits a direct communicator who is strategic and drives high accountability

Role is based in Melbourne but open for a discussion if you're based elsewhere.
