Job summary

Virgin Australia Airlines is seeking a Head of Data to guide the evolution of our data capabilities, enabling better decisions and improved operations through analytics and AI. Reporting to the CTO, Platforms, you will own data strategy, governance and the Databricks platform, partnering with technology and business leaders to drive value at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver an enterprise data strategy and investment roadmap aligned with Virgin Australia’s business priorities and technology strategy.
• Lead the architecture, evolution and operation of our Databricks data platform for enterprise reporting, analytics and AI.
• Develop reusable data products with clear owners, consistent definitions, quality expectations and service standards.
• Strengthen data governance with ownership, stewardship, quality and lifecycle management in partnership with business leaders and security/privacy teams.
• Manage delivery partners and offshore services with clear expectations for quality, outcomes and cost.
• Build and lead a high‑performing data engineering, platforms, architecture and governance team.
