Job summary

Virgin Australia is seeking a Data Reporting & Analytics Specialist to explore operational data, clarify requirements for analysis, and support assessment for innovative data applications in our operation. In this role you’ll work with the Operations Transformation team to investigate data, define data requirements, design dashboards and reports, and validate data quality for AI-ready datasets.

Based in Australia with a flexible hybrid work model, you’ll collaborate with the analytics community

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience exploring and analysing data with reports and dashboards.
• Ability to translate business questions into reporting requirements and data sources.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Attention to data quality, validation and reconciliation.
• Plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines in a complex environment.
• Familiarity with AI/ML data preparation concepts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business questions and reporting priorities.
• Turn needs into clear analytical requirements including KPI definitions and data sources.
• Design, develop, test and maintain dashboards, scorecards and datasets.
• Analyse trends, variances and root causes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Validate data quality and resolve data discrepancies with data owners and tech teams.
• Monitor outputs and coordinate fixes with data engineering or platform teams.
• Automate manual reporting to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Maintain documentation of definitions, logic and ownership.
• Work in the office a minimum of three days a week to build relationships.
