Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Coordinator Building Assessment to lead a skilled technical team responsible for low-rise development and certification across one of Australia’s largest councils.

You will oversee Development Applications, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Occupation Certificates, mentor staff, shape policy and provide expert guidance on legislation and Building Code of Australia to deliver safe, compliant and sustainable communities.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in building surveying, certification or development assessment.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and building standards.
Proven leadership and people development skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee assessment of Development Applications, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Occupation Certificates.
Lead and mentor a team of assessment professionals, manage workloads and review technical recommendations.
Prepare reports, attend meetings and respond to enquiries from residents, developers and industry.
Provide expert guidance on legislation and Building Code of Australia to ensure compliant outcomes.
