Blacktown City Council is seeking a Coordinator Building Assessment to lead a high-performing team responsible for low-rise development and certification matters across one of Australia’s largest councils.

You will supervise Development Applications, Construction Certificates and related certificates, guiding staff and ensuring decisions are lawful, timely and in the public interest. The role emphasizes policy improvement and client-focused service in a growing community.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in building surveying, certification or development assessment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and building standards.
• Proven leadership and people development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of assessment professionals.
• Oversee the assessment of Development Applications, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Occupation Certificates.
• Prepare reports and attend meetings, responding to inquiries from residents, developers and industry professionals.
• Provide expert guidance on legislation and Building Code of Australia.
