The opportunity

We’re looking for a Head of Brand, Strategy & Communications to lead the development and execution of a future-focused national brand strategy for the HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association.

The HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association consists of nine independent member firms located in major cities and regional business centres across Australia and New Zealand. The firms’ specialists provide advice and services to a large and diversified client base, including growing businesses, governments, not‑for‑profits and individuals.

Reporting to the National Executive Leadership team, you’ll act as the brand custodian and strategic adviser across brand, communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement. You’ll shape a clear, confident and compelling brand narrative that strengthens HLB’s national recognition, reputation and market presence, while supporting growth and a unified client and employee experience across the Association.

In This Role, You Will
  • Define and evolve HLB’s national brand strategy, value proposition and governance across visual identity, tone of voice, communications, campaigns, proposals and client touchpoints.
  • Develop compelling brand narratives, campaigns and content strategies that strengthen market differentiation and support business development, client retention and talent attraction.
  • Oversee digital, website redevelopment and marketing projects, using data, analytics and market insights to improve online presence, user experience and campaign effectiveness.
  • Act as a key stakeholder and primary contact for Managing Partners and delegates across HLB’s nine member firms, building trusted relationships and alignment across the network.
  • Manage external partners and third‑party providers, including creative agencies, PR firms and digital consultants, to deliver high‑quality outcomes aligned to brand strategy.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a small team, including two direct reports, while influencing senior stakeholders on brand, communications, reputation and engagement best practice.
About you

You’re a strategic, commercially minded brand and communications leader who can bring people together around a clear national vision.

You’ll Bring
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field; postgraduate qualifications or relevant certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in brand management, marketing or communications, ideally with at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in professional services, B2B, multi-office, national or partnership environments.
  • A strong track record developing and delivering brand strategies that elevate market position and contribute to commercial outcomes.
  • Strong digital, content, social media and PR experience, with the ability to interpret analytics and insights to guide decisions.
  • An interest in responsible AI adoption for brand building, content development and workflow optimisation.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to advise and coach senior leaders.
  • Experience leading teams, managing projects, overseeing budgets and working effectively with external agencies and vendors.
  • A collaborative, adaptable and proactive leadership style, with the confidence to lead through influence in a partnership-based environment.
Why join us

This is a unique opportunity to shape the next phase of HLB’s national brand story. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the Australasian Association, influence strategic initiatives at a national level and help strengthen how HLB is understood by clients, people, markets and communities.

You’ll have the scope to bring fresh thinking to brand, communications, digital innovation and stakeholder engagement, while being part of a collaborative, people-focused network that values trusted relationships, technical excellence and future-focused thinking.
