CSIRO's Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong seeks a Team Leader to guide animal welfare and biorisk specialists, ensuring ethical and compliant operations. You will oversee regulatory adherence to the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals, DAFF biosecurity controls, and internal policies.

You will collaborate with researchers, regulators, and internal teams to provide expert advice on study design, ethics applications and audits, contributing to ISO 9001

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in veterinary science or closely related discipline.
• Experience in heavily regulated laboratory environments.
• Experience with system development, implementation and compliance management.
• Understanding of biosecurity, GM or SSBA materials and animal ethics requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead animal welfare and biorisk specialists to provide expert advice on compliant animal research.
• Oversee audits and documentation requests, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with researchers, regulators and internal teams on ethics and regulatory matters.
• Support the development of consistent procedures and compliance frameworks across ACDP.
• Provide training and guidance on regulatory matters and animal welfare across CSIRO.
