Job summary

Guzman y Gomez on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a Head Cook to lead daily kitchen operations and drive exceptional Mexican dining experiences.

You will train and develop the kitchen team, work with the Restaurant Manager on controlling COGS, labor, and expenses, and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy hospitality kitchen.
• Experience leading a kitchen team.
• Ability to interpret key kitchen financial indicators such as COGS and wastage.
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of food safety procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Train and grow the entire kitchen team.

We appreciate diverse experience, but specifically, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment
• Experience leading and developing a kitchen team
• Ability to understand, interpret and explain key kitchen financial performance indicators includingcost of goods, stock variances and wastage
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of food safety procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
