Job summary

Sully’s Rooftop at Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel is seeking a passionate Head Chef to shape the culinary identity, lead the kitchen team and deliver exceptional Queensland dining. You will design seasonal menus, manage operations, budgets and staff while aligning culinary strategy with business goals.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you’ll ensure quality, consistency and hospitality excellence in a premium rooftop setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior kitchen role.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification.
• Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to manage operations and deliver financial outcomes.
• Strong leadership, communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to shape the culinary identity and lead the kitchen team in delivering Queensland’s most exceptional food and service.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you’ll oversee all kitchen operations, lead a talented team, and deliver a menu that reflects the venue’s coastal location and seasonal produce. You’ll also work closely with the Venue Manager to align culinary strategy with business goals, ensuring quality, consistency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and creativity.

What We’re Looking For
