Job summary

ALH Hotels is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at the Norwood Hotel, a heritage-listed venue in Adelaide’s Norwood area. The role combines pub classics with modern Australian dishes, led by a hands-on chef who can mentor a kitchen team and collaborate with FOH and the Publican.

A strong local presence and live entertainment are part of the venue’s culture. The position offers a salary from $85,000 plus superannuation and bonus, with opportunities to grow within the Endeavour Group

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks (lifting/moving stock, kegs, deliveries)
• Proven leadership capabilities in a kitchen environment
• Trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications must be in place

Job description

We’re searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at the Norwood Hotel - the beating heart of our local community and the place where pub classics meet plates locals can’t get enough of.

The Norwood Hotel is a heritage-listed establishment, situated on the corner of The Parade and Osmond Terrace. This local institution is right next to Norwood Oval (Coopers Stadium), and only 10 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD.

Whether it’s a catch up beer with mates, dinner with family, or a special event with loved ones, this hotel has served locals and South Australians for over a century. The Norwood Hotel continues to be an ideal spot for any casual catch up or tailored event. A wide range of beers on tap are available, alongside a selection of wines and spirits - both local and international imports, served at our iconic Finn Mc Cool’s Irish pub. To compliment, our food menu boasts quality steaks, fresh salads, modern Australian dishes and other pub favourites.

For live entertainment seekers, we also have regular live music acts and gigs on play to showcase and support local talent.

The Salary: From $85,000 + superannuation + bonus

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
