Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Solotel Group’s Chophouse is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen and shape seasonal menus. You will oversee menu development, ordering, and service delivery while rostering and mentoring the team. Collaborate with Matt Moran and uphold top food-safety standards in a renowned Sydney dining destination.
You’ll drive culinary excellence, inspire staff, and contribute to Chophouse’s continued reputation within Solotel’s portfolio.
Quality Australian beef is what we do best. Chophouse is an established, contemporary Sydney steakhouse known for premium cuts, expert cooking and a dining experience that brings corporate diners, special occasion guests and food lovers back.
Matt Moran’s passion for Australian produce and paddock-to-plate philosophy are part of the Chophouse story. Working with producers including O’Connor, Southern Ranges and Sher Wagyu, our kitchen puts provenance, flavour and technique first. Our signature Montague broiler sits at the heart of the offering, complemented by seasonal seafood, classic starters and thoughtfully prepared sides.
Warm lighting, soaring cathedral-style ceilings and rich timber give the dining room its distinctive character. A 300-strong wine list curated by Sommelier Paul Sadler, classic cocktails and an extensive whisky collection round out the experience.
As Head Chef, you’ll bring your own creativity and direction to the kitchen—creating seasonal menus, developing dishes and leading your team. With opportunities to collaborate with Matt, you’ll have respected culinary expertise to draw on as you build on Chophouse’s established reputation.
Part of Solotel, Chophouse offers the stability, support and career opportunities of an established hospitality group—with Sundays and public holidays off.
The Role
As Head Chef, you’ll lead Chophouse’s kitchen with confidence, precision and a passion for exceptional food. Taking ownership of the operation, you’ll oversee everything from menu development, ordering and service delivery to rostering, team development, food costs and the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Working with premium Australian beef and outstanding seasonal produce, you’ll bring expert grill skills, strong restaurant experience and an uncompromising approach to quality. Equally important will be your ability to inspire your team, develop talent and deliver a consistently exceptional dining experience.
Working alongside Matt Moran, you’ll have access to invaluable knowledge, mentorship and culinary expertise, with the opportunity to contribute your ideas and help shape Chophouse’s food offering.
With the backing of Solotel, you’ll benefit from established operational support, ongoing professional development and opportunities to grow your career. This is your opportunity to lead an established Sydney restaurant, make your mark and work alongside some of the industry’s most respected operators.
