Job summary

Flagship Distillery is seeking an experienced Head Bartender to lead the day-to-day execution of our drinks program at our new Kent Town venue. You will work closely with the Venue Manager to establish service standards and culture, ensuring cocktails are prepared and presented to Flagship standards.

You will also train and support the bar and floor team, refining the drinks list and driving consistency across service with a strong focus on quality and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a busy bar team.
• Current RSA qualification (SA) required.
• Experience as a senior bartender or bar supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cocktail and beverage execution during service.
• Prepare and maintain mise en place, batching, garnishes.
• Ensure consistency in recipes, presentation and service.
• Maintain a clean, organised, service-ready bar.
• Support stock control, rotation and waste minimisation.
• Train and support bartenders and floor staff in beverage knowledge.

Job description

Flagship Distillery is seeking an experienced and highly capable Head Bartender to join the team at our new venue in Kent Town. Working closely with the Venue Manager, the Head Bartender will take the lead on the day‑to‑day execution of our drinks program and help establish the service standards and culture of the bar. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in exceptional drinks, efficient service and attention to detail. You will be responsible for ensuring cocktails and other beverages are consistently prepared and presented to Flagship standards, while helping train and support the broader bar and floor team.

The Flagship drinks list will be established for opening. The Head Bartender's role is to execute that drinks list to a consistently high standard and contribute to its ongoing refinement and evolution, bringing ideas, experience and creativity to the program over time.

Key responsibilities

Leading cocktail and beverage execution during service

Preparing and maintaining cocktail mise en place, batching, garnishes and other bar preparation

Ensuring consistency in recipes, presentation, glassware and service standards

Maintaining a clean, organised and service‑ready bar

Supporting stock control, rotation and minimising beverage wastage

Training and supporting bartenders and floor staff in beverage knowledge and service

Contributing ideas for new cocktails, seasonal drinks and improvements to the existing drinks program

Developing a strong knowledge of Flagship Distillery's gin, vodka and other products and communicating that knowledge confidently to guests

Working closely with the Venue Manager to deliver a polished and consistent guest experience

Taking a leadership role during service and helping maintain standards across the venue

About you

Strong cocktail experience and sound technical bartending skills

Comfortable working in a premium but approachable hospitality environment

Organised, reliable and confident leading by example during busy services

Attention to detail and consistency valued as highly as creativity

Current South Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification required

Experience in a senior bartender, bar supervisor or similar role strongly preferred
