Job summary

Freighter Group in Brooklyn, VIC is seeking a reliable Workshop / Yard Driver to support workshop operations through safe trailer movements and yard presentation. The role involves moving trailers, preparing items for customer handover and assisting service, parts and sales teams as required.

Applicants should hold a current HC Licence and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety. A hands-on, team-oriented individual with experience in transport or dealership environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• A current HC Licence (essential).
• Commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Experience operating or moving trailers, heavy vehicles or transport equipment.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
• Willingness to assist across workshop and yard operations as needed.
• Experience in a transport, manufacturing, workshop or dealership environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Moving trailers safely between the workshop, yard and designated storage areas.
• Positioning trailers for workshop repairs, servicing and inspections.
• Assisting with trailer loading, unloading and yard movements.
• Preparing new and used trailers for customer collection and handover.
• Conducting pre-movement and general safety checks on trailers and equipment.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard environment.
• Supporting workshop technicians and parts personnel with general duties as required.
• Assisting with occasional trailer deliveries and collections when required.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
