Job summary

WorkPac Group in Mackay is seeking a Heavy Combination (HC) truck operator to transport machinery between project sites. You will load, secure and unload equipment using a float trailer while adhering to road regulations and site requirements.

The role requires pre-start checks, safe operation, and coordination with site teams. Night shifts and travel may be required, with penalties/allowances contributing to a base hourly rate of AU$39.65.

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Heavy Combination (HC) truck to transport machinery between project sites.

About Our Client

What you will be Doing

• Operating a Heavy Combination (HC) truck to transport machinery and equipment between project sites
• Loading, securing and unloading machinery using a float trailer
• Safely transporting heavy equipment in line with road regulations and site requirements
• Completing pre-start checks and ensuring the truck, float and equipment are maintained to a high standard
• Working closely with site teams to coordinate equipment movements and deliveries
• Following all safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment across civil construction projects

What you will need

• Relevant machinery tickets or licences (Roller/Loader/Skid Steer/Bobcat) - desirable
• Previous asphalt, spray seal or civil road construction experience highly regarded
• Ability to work night shifts and travel away for work
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
