Job summary

Downer is seeking a Hazardous Areas Electrician to join the project team across Origin Energy nominated facilities in the Darling Downs gas fields. You will perform hazardous area installations, inspections, and electrical testing while working within a supportive field team and a robust safety culture.

The role offers an 18/10 FIFO roster, with two weekends home each month, modern fleet support, and opportunities to work in remote rural environments.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Electrician with a current QLD Electrical Licence and LVR CPR.
• Hazardous Area Certification (within 5 years), Construction Induction/White Card, Current GTA, and a valid Driver's Licence.
• HRW Licence with WP or LF is desirable but not compulsory.
• Strong heavy industrial background, with Oil & Gas experience.
• Understanding of SLD, P&ID & Schematic wiring diagrams and knowledge of AS3000 wiring standards, plus basic computer skills.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of yourself and colleagues.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete Hazardous area installations (VSDs, Pumps/Motors, Emergency and control circuits).
• Prepare HA inspection reports (FIC) and perform electrical testing of all apparatus and cabling.
• Cable trays and supports installation and general electrical fieldwork.
• Contribute to pre-start safety and permit processes with client representatives.
