Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods in Kilcoy, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Hay Production Operator to join our team. You will work with farm managers to support daily operations and ensure high hay quality.

Responsibilities include operating tractors and farming machinery, cutting, raking, tedding and baling hay, maintaining equipment, and meeting production targets while upholding WHS and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in hay production including cutting, raking, tedding and baling.
• Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside the Farm Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our onsite farms, helping maximise productivity, profitability and hay quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and farming machinery to support daily farm operations.
• Cut, rake, tedder and bale hay for sale.
• Assist with all aspects of hay production, from paddock preparation through to harvesting and baling.
• Operate, clean and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure it remains safe and in good working order.
• Work closely with the Farm Manager to meet production targets and improve farm profitability.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, co-workers and management.
• Carry out general farm duties as required.
• Follow all environmental compliance requirements and maintain responsible farming practices.
• Comply with workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures at all times.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous practical experience in hay production, including cutting, raking, tedding and baling essential to be successful in this position.
• Demonstrated experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery.
• Prior hands-on farming experience.
• The ability to work independently, efficiently and under pressure.
• A strong work ethic and a reliable, can-do attitude.
• Clear communication skills.
• A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to work effectively with management and co-workers.
• A commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance and responsible farming practices.
• Flexibility to work additional day or night shifts when required.
